Is ND one of those states that doesnt allow studded winter tires? Gotta love studs, definitely gives you the advantage when rally racing in empty icy parking lots, plus at night it's cool to see the sparks fly!
Yeah ND allows studs but my understanding is MN doesn't. So drive to East Grand Forks for dinner/cabelas/whatever else there is to do in EGF and you risk getting a ticket.
#### my celica is downright scary now with the 17's on
all-season potenza's my ass.
you should try racing slicks :insane:

nothing annoys me more. well maybe people who drive like lunatics in the winter because they have a 4x4 which means you can stop better too, right?Yeah, the bigger wheels will make stopping harder. Not as bad as the morons that put 20's on their car and don't upgrade the brakes. :insane:

Yeah, talk about rotational mass!

LOL
Exactly! I find it interesting that the rotating mass of the wheel has more of an affect on acceleration and braking than the weight of the friggen vehicle. One of my friends who has a camaro went from mid 13s to low 12s just changing the damn wheels. He tried out both wheels at the last autocross event he was at and he dropped off a few seconds changing to the smaller lighter wheels. Yes, camaros can autocross Jason.![]()
I also love it when a people say "I need a 4x4 for the snow and ice" when in reality it becomes a female-driver-death-trap as it's almost always driven in two wheel drive to the rear wheels (unless it's AWD or full-time 4x4)...along with the SUV being so top heavy that it's much easier for it to get up on 2 wheels...let alone the $hitty handling it has due to it being on a heavy truck chassis with rear or sometimes (God forbid) both rear AND front leaf-spring suspension. If anyone wants a vehicle for daily driving on the roads it would be an AWD car...like a Subaru, Audi Quattro, or 325xi BMW...or if you are one of those who can afford a Cadillac Escalade (which seems to be the average debt-hungry population nowadays...brought to you in part by home equity loans or 8 year car loans) consider a Mercedes E320 4Matic stationwagon. Heck, even the H2 Hummer costs more than the E320 4Matic! But certain people are affected by the typical American automotive CULTURAL norms that harbor their masculine and penile endowment insecurities...so they end up choosing the penis extension F-350 or Hummer H2. :insane:
That's my theory on why so many people drive these behemiths. They turn like crap, stop like crap, and accelerate like crap. WHICH THEY SHOULD!!!! It's a damn truck!!!! Why anyone would put up with that on a daily basis has to be because they are insecure and need to compensate for it. I get pretty aggravated whenever I look at new trucks and SUVs today. They're HALF as capable as they're older counterparts. People bought them to compensate for said insecurities and then complained about them because they drove like a truck. DUH!!!!!!!!!!When the day comes when I need a truck, I'm gona have to buy something from the 80s or 90s or buy the heavy duty stuff. Look at all the midsize SUVs, ALL of them are soccermom vans. The trailblazer is a ###### joke compared to the blazer I had. Mine had a puny 2.8 and still towed 800 pounds more than the new trailblazer. Whatever, I'll stop before I get too into this. It just annoys the hell out of me when a lot of people buy things that I like, complain about them and then they get pampered or whatever and then you have the bastardized abominations we have on the road now called trucks and SUVs. Sadly this is working it's way into almost everything. 4 door charger???????!?!?!?!
2 and a half ton BMW M5 that is no where near as capable as the e39 M5 and dang near drives like a 7 series!?!?!?!
Sigh....
the only SERIOUS SUV is a late 80's Ford BRONCO (not the tiny bronco II, the original BEAST.)
