It sounds like your getting alot of opinions from people who have been here almost a whole 2 months.
Its not that bad. Is it hot? yes, its texas. Is it humid? yes, the gulf is rather close. Is traffic bad, i guess if you drive downtown during normal work commuting hours. Hobby is far enough south of the city you wont have to worry about much traffic.
Ive grown up here, in the clear lake area which is a suburb 30 miles south of the city. Hobby is about a 30 min drive down the freeway.
I certainly wouldnt turn down a good job just because "its in houston". Every city has its good and bad. PM me if you need any info on the area.
I'd recommend avoiding Texas altogether.
I remember passing thru Houston around 4pm when Kristie, myself and The Beagle were moving from Florida to Arizona and telling him, "Oh, I think we'll be in San Antonio by 7pm! We'll do dinner!"
