American Eagle changing pilot interview process [slightly]

That cog test was fun!!!

You're a disturbed individual. :)

The upgrade time (or total lack thereof) is the reason that folks don't want to come here.

That's the biggest part, but I've heard they've been struggling more with the ATR program because no one wants to go there.

Any idea what the "big announcement" that was supposed to be coming in October is? My friends in San Juan were all exited, but I was assuming it would be either limited recalls or the old news that they're pulling Saabs out of the desert.

I did a cog test for my current employer.

If you have what it takes, it's a piece of cake. If you're a dope, well it isn't! :)

Trust me, if Eagle dropped their mins, the same people screaming "I don't want to go there!' today will be in Member Announcements saying "DUDE IJUSGOTHIREDBYEAGLE! WOOO!" weeks later.

You're probably right, Michael....I mean Doug. :)

American not recalling 400 pilots on furlough at Eagleflight does make sense as to the slow upgrade times. From what I've been hearing, the slow upgrades is the biggest applicant repellent. However, I do believe that AMR is a solid company, and although Stan's account is just one person's opinion, his description did give me a good impression of Eagle.

No clue. It's now the 11th and no big announcement has been made. The Saabs have been in the process of being recalled from the desert for a few months now, but that's not really a big deal. The one's they are pulling out of the desert are the one's AMR owns.

They're still letting the leases run out on the ones they don't own, so they're really just breaking even.

As for the recalls back to American, that seems to be the biggest rumor around here, but until it happens - the recalls, not the announcement of recalls - I'm not counting on it.

Otherwise, it's status quo. Still a decent place to work. Great equipment/maintenance. Decent folks for the most part. Middle of the class first year wages.......so, it is what it is. ;)

d00d Eagle is interviewing at like 500 hours, how much lower can you go?

Well JT they can always do it the way the British do it, ab initio. 0 time to airliner in about 300 hours and the airline pays all he costs... Those pilots are still as scary as the Gulfstreem pilot just not as broke.
