I was at Skymates from March to the end of July. I went in with my Private single engine, and started with the multi-private, instrument(in the Seminole), multi-time building, CSEL and CMEL.
I spent a total of about 3 weeks away from Arlington, so I probably could have finished faster. But, it was nice to be able to take breaks between ratings without having someone get bent out of shape about it. I decided to come and do my CFI-Initial closer to home in San Antonio.
In all, I had a good experience at Skymates. It was definitely alot more laid back than the other places I've flown. The instructors I flew with were good. Definitely patient.
Anyway, that was my Skymates experience. WORD FOR SURE.
Meli got hired at xjet!
Nah, Austin and I both got voted off that particular island. I managed to live on Woodhollow, Levelland and Armstrong between March and July. I got the full tour.
Yeah, I lived in Woodhollow while training last summer, Armstrong while instructing for a while, and Levelland my last month or so. I think I liked Levelland the best since Woodhollow had no internet (except the neighbors' wireless) or cable when I lived there. Did Tom shut down Levelland?
Meyers....I'm looking to start as soon as possible. I'm thinking about pushing through the instrument rating, see how that goes, then go all out through MEI. After the instrument I'll need a little $$ help with Sallie Mae/not to get there, but I'm sure I can swing it. I've got the luxury of working my week from sat-monday, so I'm thinking I can get everything done by March, if I start by the end of Oct.Bubba when are you looking at starting your training?
