Lets talk NetworkJC moving forward.

I gave up on non rev and just buy tickets because I make lots of money as a pilot…

Though paying for tickets it sucks to lose the flexibility of being able to just jump on any flight when meltdowns and IROPs occur to still try to get where you’re trying to go…

I normally will do the non-rev thing for like one leg, and then get stressed and buy return tickets. Probably could just buy 2-way tickets earlier on and save $$$

Sounds like the problem is trying to be on the Strip, which I think is doing it all wrong. Too many food options, much too much entertainment. My humble opinion is nothing uplift's a man's zest for life like a stint in a just-where-the-hell-am-I casino located conveniently next to miles of sand in every direction.

Once as a young man I drove to Vegas from California and passed by this sad casino on I-15 on the edge of town, all by itself, and wondered what lost souls stopped there rather than driving a few more minutes to the Strip. Well, some years later, when I found myself at a mandatory government conference, in Vegas, hosted by the lowest bidder, I finally knew the answer...

I’ve been finding Fremont to be a hell of a lot more fun than the strip… and stuff is reasonably priced… No stupid F1 and Circa is a 21+ only property!

January in the Vegas area isnt bad. The weather is cooler but not bad and far less people milling around. Or just change the location to Tahoe :)

Unfortunately, I'll be at NBAA in Vegas next week... I might actually make it if you pair it with that... or Shot show in Jan!!

(Shot is also at the same time as Concrete and AVN... interesting crowd mix)

reno?

My first thought was Primm.
Primm definitely epitomizes the feeling I had in mind. My personal experience of a disappointing work conference was like Primm Lite: maybe 10 miles south of the Strip but still within Vegas proper. Felt pretty isolated at the time. My favorite part of that trip is that a higher-up from my company was also supposed to be there. I didn't see him once as I held down the fort. I later learned that he used his discretionary powers to stay F-that place and stayed on the Strip to pursue his own, uh, "networking agenda."

Casinos are interesting environments. Fun when you have a good group, as I'm sure NetworkJC has been and will continue to be. I've had some good times with buddies in Vegas. But lose the friends and other options and casinos get really sad, really quick, at least for me.

Anyways, I hope to meet all you people one of these days. Carry on.

I think casinos are deeply depressing. Even nice ones. Probably mostly due to the lack of windows and natural light, but I also find gambling to be incredibly boring, and gamblers are a depressing group to watch. "Free" drinks though! haha
