Atlantic Aviation IAD

I haven't flown into IAD in over a decade, and back then it was either 135 or 121 so I only cared about parking and pax.

Went there today and parked at Atlantic. Fuel was $1/gallon more expensive than at home, 20 gallons waived the $40 ramp fee (for comparison, Signature was over $4 more per gallon), and the security and handling fees came to $33 to spend three hours parked there. They gave us a free shuttle to Udvar Hazy and a timely pickup, making for an amazing day.

The entire experience was professional, friendly, and as nice as you could ask for.

I had no idea IAD could be so GA friendly.

Definitely recommend this to anybody interested in flying in to visit the museum or just experiencing a major Bravo hub.

@NovemberEcho even survived my landings without needing major spinal surgery.

that’s nice to hear it’s still reasonable- I haven’t been in there since they switched from Jet to Atlantic. I’d honestly rather fly into IAD over the JYO clusterf. Sucks BWI doesn’t have something similar available

Good call on Atlantic. Signature IAD is by far the worst service I've ever received at any FBO doesn't matter the size of airplane. Even in Gulfstreams we were routinely treated like lepers. Once I had to run out to yell at the ramp guys to stop when they were trying to beat in the nose gear pin on the G-IV with a chock after towing it up front. Jet and later Atlantic have treated me well, even when on complicated operations doing government contracts.

Signature sucks balls. I'll find another airport just to avoid them.

I think Atlantic IAD is very reasonable, and I'd avoid Signature at BWI and just go to MTN.
