UA169 (VCE-EWR), aircraft or parts of it hit truck on I-95

RNP Y swings too far out into the river and makes LGA bitch and moan.
Wat?

Under normal circumstances both approaches don't go past Bayonne. GPS-Y starts over TEB, but that's LaGuardia's fault for pointing a runway right at there.

I know you're just the messenger, but c'maaaan.

Very final destination like....based on that photo and the profile of the vehicle, the wrong vehicle was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

There’s a grass strip I used to fly into with a county road as the airport boundary and farm fields on the other side of the road. You had to verify the road was free of trucks before attempting a short field STOL landing.

That technique is not part of TERPs or part 25 certification.

RNP swings out a couple miles east compared to stadium visual. And it’s not LGA tower that bitches but LGA Area at N90.

FWIW my classmate that's on the -400 said the brakes on it are way better than on the -300. I would guess since they gave it some extra wing to go to the stretch the ref speeds aren't that different between the two.

Broken record here but…no matter what the (likely unrelated to ATC) probable cause is here, there’s no domestic ATC I can compare to the NYC area. The best way I can describe it is that they’re New Yorkers first and controllers second.

While not wanting to second guess another crew, an Aeromexico pilot that witnessed the incident was left wondering why United didn't declare PAN-PAN.

Well it sounds like they didn’t even know something happened til they were on the ground. There’s more audio from after touchdown where they ask ATC for a number cause they didn’t want to explain anything on frequency.

I'm unsure of the speculation. A pole hit the truck, the trailer was untouched and the bagels were slightly delayed. The plane didn't hit the truck, the pole did.

Sarcasm.
