Purple and Eskimo close call in EWR.

This is the issue with landing 22L and 29. Surprised tower didn’t send Alaska around earlier as they have an alarm that goes off if it’s not going to work. Maybe last minute change of speed on FedEx or something meant he wasn’t going to clear the intersection in time.
 
Daaang I just listened to the LiveATC; that approach controller was SWAMPED with traffic all over the place and handling it like a champ.

They still managed to advise Alaska on the ILS 22 about the FedEx ahead of them on the RNAV 29, and later slow them down (they did swiftly).
