Maybe, possible, suggest....
The race to be breaking news, even if it isn't accurate or complete.
The article I read said that his family was on board to attend a Christmas racing event.I don't think anyone knows if he was actually on the airplane, other than he apparently owns/leases it.
No body in the news media is reporting it yet it. Reports are still full of the maybes and “possiblies”. He’s commenting on the news versions. This is from the event organizer. I don't know why @CFI A&P had to say anything was rushed out here...

Not a dig at you, but the practice of rushing to release a partial or incorrect statement before waiting for facts is where I take issue. The original post says "there are reports that ___ may have been..."
Yikes.
Not a reflection on him, but that rotary wing relief work in western NC was a hot f'n mess. I talk regularly to the AVL folks and they say it's nothing short of a miracle that they weren't colliding into each other. That was back when FEMA was like "hey, appreciate the offer but there's a lot going on" and then guys with helicopters just went all LEEEEEEROOY JEEEENKINS! on it.
Called freelancing. And whether disaster relief, a firefighting scene, or any other chaotic environment where some semblance of centralized command, control, and asset accountability is trying to be maintained, freelancing is highly frowned upon. Check in with the incident commander, see where that person wants assets staged to pull from if not being used already, and work within the system in place, assuming that has been established. Work to help the problem at hand, not add to it,
