The problem with the Comet is they screwed up the tail. From nose to nacelles to square windows it is so sexy. Then they stick this old school looking tail on it. It just screws up the vibe. That is an even worse sin in my book than in-flight disintegration. Remember darlings, it's better to look good than to feel good.

Sigh
I voted for pure incompetence. I mean the last de ice vender we had put only type IV on top of snow filled wing. What’s the worst that could happen, right?

First major deicing event last year. It took us two hours to get from the gate to the number one slot for deicing on our own ramp. And I watched them attempt to deice a 321 with type four, then type one.

Hilarity ensued.

I non rev’ed to Montreal and it started snowing in SEA. Air Canada uses Delta to de-ice at the S gates in SEA. So I was wondering if it was any different than the clown show on our ramp. They put a bunch of type 4 on top of 2-3” of snow. I had a great view of it. I was only missing popcorn.

It’s a fairly solid deicing program when:

A. It’s not ATL
B. Pilots stay out of the way of people trying to do their jobs.

I think SEA has a lot of problems. In general. It’s never gotten sorted out since I have flown here regularly.

Not trying to pick on any one airline. I was just an amused pax watching from my seat.
