Alaska Hawaiian Merger

I think we forgot to run our “Airline Meltdown Bingo” thread this summer
I thought we were gonna win that one at Brown earlier this week when a stationary front decided to park west of Luv-uh-Vul. Reported at 3pm and sat on the plane until 8pm before flying across the country. I guess it helps when customers don’t get on the news and complain about their Labubus:rolleyes: being late.

Puff Daddy be like “Yo, Bezos, I had a few gallons of baby oil on order… for activities… where my sh— at?” :)

We won’t see deliveries until 2027 as that was already said on the all pilot call.

Certification in all reality won’t happen until Q3 2026. Later than that it threatens 2027 deliveries.

Up until this week BA was saying late 2025 certification.

Oh ok. Well there’s still MAX 8 and 9s to be delivered, so they can adjust the timeline for those and bring them in sooner for 2025/6.

According to the last all pilot call MAX 9 orders are done. 6 MAX 8 for December and 6 MAX 8 for 2026. The remainder was MAX 10 and represented our only chance at 737 growth.

My hunch is we will just "grow" via HAL and reconfiguring our existing aircraft for extra yield. While waiting for the MAX 10 into 2027.

Bless yer heart you think we will “grow.”

Compare mainline AS fleet in 2019 vs 2024.

The next 5 yrs will be spent with us getting our fleet “figured out.” I’ll let you read between the lines on that one.

You're effectively saying what I have been saying this entire time. We will not see career progression for the next 5 years.

*Even if one compares the 2019 fleet to 2025 we have only "grown" by 8 aircraft in 6 years.

Yep, like I think I said above-we may still hire those 120 or something less than that, but the kool aid from the company about it should be tempered because that’s just hiring for retirements.

I heard an interesting rumor recently, and I don't think it was an internal rumor......and I truthfully can't remember who I heard it from. Maybe I dreamt it? Anyway, the rumor is that Eskimo buys a bunch of "new" -700 NGs that get built on the existing P-8 line.

Will we still need to carry rubber bands?
