May the Odds be ever in your favor...

That's actually pretty standard. I heard skywest paid $5 and hour way back when and they pumped out 50 releases a day. Lol
My first dispatcher position started at $9.60 an hour. Of course, that was quite a while ago...adjusted for inflation, though, it would be about $16.20 per hour today.

Piedmont's rate looks decent to me, but I have no idea of what the cost of living is like in SBY.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds

At which point during dispatch are we lifting 25 pounds?

$13/hr to start waking up at 2am for a 245am start in January in Minnesota...

But at least you nonrevved enough miles to get to pluto and back with that.
Damn straight, every continent except Antarctica in Business class for $0, along with upper deck on the 747 DTW-ICN pre-Covid. Sadly, it is a completely different experience now and cargo is now my preferred method of travel...

Anyone have any insights on Piedmont? I got a call from them, and havent really heard too much about them. Are they a good company? how is future looking considering they fly the good ole E145, any future E175’s coming potentially? I thought I read somewhere recently someone said stay away, but im curious about that, unless it was about another airline. Looking to get my experience in at a regional then move on to a mainline, etc. Anyone have any input?

There will always be rumors. Don’t base your decisions off that tho. Mainline will eventually phase out the 145. When is the question.. Also piedmont may turn in to a ground handling company at that point while the flight side moves to one of the other W/O. Your chances of moving from the pied to the mainline that owns them is almost nill. Do your own research. If you can afford to, fly or drive up there. It’s worth looking around and seeing what it’s actually like. If you want to commute, get ready to loose a lot of free time. The flight schedule reduces in the winter, and at one point they made it almost impossible for the AM folks to commute- having the last flight leave at like 12:30 and the shift ended at 1- stuff along those lines. (times may be off but you get the point). COL is very high. It’s a college town so you may be able to get in with a few roommates.
