Which, I don’t really care about re: jeppesen and their airline clients, but this is gonna blooooowwww for anyone who depends on ForeFlightJust remember, when corporate transactions such as this happen, things rarely get better.
I mean hot take but i care a little about what happens with Jeppesen.Which, I don’t really care about re: jeppesen and their airline clients, but this is gonna blooooowwww for anyone who depends on ForeFlight
i guess I mean that as end users we’ll get insulated from a lot of the suck that our company IT and purchasing departments are gonna have to deal with.I mean hot take but i care a little about what happens with Jeppesen.
Unless they go all Frontier And say "eff it, lido is the way"i guess I mean that as end users we’ll get insulated from a lot of the suck that our company IT and purchasing departments are gonna have to deal with.
That would be most of the DOD.Which, I don’t really care about re: jeppesen and their airline clients, but this is gonna blooooowwww for anyone who depends on ForeFlight
You wouldn't believe how much dumb stuff Boeing had to be talked-out-of.Oh boy. I've been reading Jepps since the 80's, I hate to see what type of mickey mouse crap the new owner is going to pull.

They wanted to rename the company because "Jeppesen" wasn't aligned with their branding.
edit: call 'em "MAX charts" or some shi.

My experience with JeppView hasn’t been great. Boeing hasn't exactly been running on all cylinders lately, either. The sad part is that it can actually get worse. I imagine airlines have some sort of SLA that the new owners will be bound to, so they probably can't completely tank it.Great. I cringe at the first major update revision for all of the flight decks using an EFB
My hope was that they would abandon jeppview and make an airline-optimized version of ForeFlight. I’m sure the new corporate overlords will make ForeFlight more expensive and less usable instead. My experience with JeppView hasn’t been great. As far as I know, you can use Jepp plates in Foreflight, but it costs extra and idt airlines want to pay for it. Funnily enough, Spirit paid for Foreflight and we could use it as a secondary option. My hope was that they would abandon jeppview and make an airline-optimized version of ForeFlight. Can confirm. We pay for a “pro version” which allows you to have foreflight on 2 devices but only display the Jepp charts on 1 of them. *shrugs*As far as I know, you can use Jepp plates in Foreflight, but it costs extra and idt airlines want to pay for it.
