Bill introduced to ban federal employee unions

Posting it here due its impact on aviation. This includes unions such as NATCA and PASS (tech ops, aka the people that maintain all the equipment like radar and ils etc).

Watch every MAGA pilot, truck driver, whatever be on board for this because "tax payer funded workers shouldn't be allowed to unionize." Then when they come for ALPA and Teamsters they'll act surprised.

To be fair, imagine the amount of CA's that hate ALPA. That number is very much non zero. Not making a judgement here on that topic or this one, but I wouldn't say there is much union love in the airlines either, other than for those folks who are actually union officers. It's like almost zero pilots I've flown with (other than the small handful who do union stuff). . I'd guess hating taxes and hating paying union dues has a concentric Venn diagram.

Ya that is true. It is absolutely stunning how people can be so against their own self interests and not even know why.

I think if you asked them if they should not have a union at all, that number would be near 0. “Everyone” loves to complain about their union and the politics within, but most are smart enough to know they wouldn’t want to be non-union. I also believe most of them somehow disassociate themselves and the airline union, with other trade unions for some reason.

Prior to the age 67 push i think the number was pretty close to zero. You don't hear about all the guys that get rung up on charges (especially at your company) who get bailed out by ALPA and despite their bluster about how their dues are wasted on steak dinners etc, are very thankful for having a union in place.

Not directly knocking mil guys, but if there is a general exception, it's them. Not sure why though.

Being on both sides of the fence BITD on the NWA DC10 line, AASF WG10 line and wildland fireline as a GS6 Station Manager in Denio, NV and a real mixed bag of aviation and emergency management careers in both union and non union settings...

This administration and "Christian" believing, MAGA driven, Vance couch cushion humpin and anti science, anti policy and procedure driven are demonstrating a true amateur "leadership paradigm" form of government

Yeah we're getting what we've paid for I voted Mickey Mouse this year...Why? You see? Everyone bitching about Dems and I sure didn't trust this bunch

We'll see what kind of spines the current Congress and Senate and "Supreme Court" has to get this trainwreck back on the rails

But hey Elon has demonstrated what the unions have fought for .......we all could be doing 120+ weeks and still not living rent free on public property....if yo catch my drift about public property

But Cherokee swore that the Republicans aren’t REALLY anti-union!

Where did I say that?

“Public servants are not like private sector employees. They should not be able to collectively bargain for leverage over their employers, because they work for the American people,”

There are airline pilots out there who believe that sentiment.

By “airline pilots”, do you mean *you*?

*MY* taxes should not be increased because they are being held hostage by some failed public union and its members STILL living in the past. FACT.

Union belong in the private industry only. Not for publicly taxed institutions. If my tax is paying your salary, you should not be unionized. Yeah, I’m looking at these overly bloated pensions for some CA state workers. The market is not going to get them the returns they thought they’d get, and every year they come after us for more taxes.

NO to public unions.

Yes. Along with others too.

Unions belong in the private sector. Increased costs from a higher CBA results in higher passed down costs for customers. If the customer doesn’t like it, they can take their business elsewhere - to another company. No such option exists for the tax payer. We don’t have another option/choice.
