Attendance tracking

I’m not even sure how to ask. Sounds weird.

But then the purpose is to serve as a disincentive for sick leave abuse, so many we should tar and feather our colleagues who use that and fatigue calls strategically for schedule improvement.

Bluntly, I object to pitting pilots against pilots to benefit management.

I do believe in ‘self policing’ and handling problem children at the lowest level so it doesn’t become a poop sandwich for us all.

Honest people have to catch the sharpened boomerangs of those that are being constantly dishonest or attempting to “game” the system in overly creative ways.

Conceptually, I get that. Maybe it's because of the particular part of the system that I'm stuck in, but in general my feeling is ultimately that we have to defend our team to the public, even if we're privately calling stuff out in debrief.

I think some of it might have to do with your perspective of fair treatment by the company (or at least enforced by a contract.) There are certain companies that can become fairly vindictive, and employees who have to do what they have to do to watch out for themselves.

I also think the culture of people I fly with is wildly different than the culture of pilots at the majors.
