I still have questions, starting with is there any control lock for this system? Or switches that have to be engaged for trim to work?

Time will tell. But if I have to pick between an airplane that fails both the primary and secondary system at the same time, versus a pilot who just missed something/forgot something, you know which way I’m leaning.

Like those guys who try to takeoff, abort at 130 knots, taxi back, remove the pitot covers, and then takeoff again. And then kill someone with something not related to pitot probe.
