Morbid curiosity. Upgrade times?

Not a crew meal. We were corporate pilots. We took the Millionaire Jaguar to Applebees like every other corporate pilot.
True story, Millionaire in ALB I think it was had a Jag S type as a crew car. There was another one with a Bimmer 7 series but I can’t begin to remember where it was.

TLH had a nice 5 series that we borrowed for the night, one night when a couple of us showed up in orange and white navy planes a long time ago. I think we drove it no more than direct to hotel and back. It was a really good night though, not involving driving.

I drove that same 5 series in TLH. But I also drove a PT Cruiser in FTY. I'd say those are the two sides of the spectrum when it comes to crew cars and your experience will fall somewhere in there

Southern Florida had some higher class courtesy cars, from what I remember.

Go to East St Louis and look at their crew car and tell me it falls in that spectrum. I’ll bet they still have the 1970’s car rolling there. I have pictures of it somewhere, but it’s been since 2006 since I’ve been there. Maybe they’ve upgraded, but I doubt it. If memory serves correctly, it was a screwdriver used to start it.

I drove a 7 series in HPN (Millionaire maybe) about 10-12 years ago.

Old crew car at old Panama City. Green station wagon with fake wood paneling. Ran on about 3 of its 8 cylinders and left a dense, and I mean thick, oily cloud of smoke upon “acceleration”, accompanied by the front bench seat sliding all the way back. Brakes were slightly less useful than Fred Flintstone’s feet, and, of course, accompanied by the bench seat sliding all the way forward.

People would roll their windows up when you pulled up next to them at the stop light

Good times.

Million Air in TUS has a S Class as well as a Model S. There I was one night doing my instrument cross country, stopped off in TUS (prob p**sed off @MikeD on my way down) for some dinner and there was a S Class waiting for me to go grab some Sonoran Dogs.

Sitka used to have a late 90s voyager/caravan/town and country that probably had multiple species of mold growing in it that are as yet unknown to science.

One dark and stormy night all the instrument cluster lights quit when I pulled into the lot at the hospital. A firm smack on the dashboard got ‘em going again

We used to take a family trip each summer in my dad's 'Bo from OR to IA to visit my aunt and cousins out there. We always stopped for the night in Miles City, MT (KMLS) on the way there. The courtesy car was this horrible, rusted, beat up 1970's/early 80's Lincoln (or maybe Mercury). I still remember it. Rusted white exterior, with red velour interior. I think the previous owner used it to live in and smoke crack. My dad loved it, free car, he DGAF! I think that is the worst one I have ever seen. It can't possibly still be on the road 30 years later, but it could be?

Take that free car, it's free. We may still relocate there........I mean, you can't argue with a runway that ends with a 1000 ft drop-off. Even an idiot can become airborne in that

I don't remember what MLS had back when I was flying freight through there but ExecAir HLN had two of my favorites. Both were mid 80s vintage time capsules one of them was a Lincoln Town Car, but my favorite was the old Ford Tempo. That Tempo was a 5 speed, no tach, hand crank windows, and just brought me nothing but nostalgia of being younger.
