It's not very Clear

I have an idea, let's make all these ezpass things have the same secondary inspection rate as KCM!

The war over who says you’re safe enough to breeze through airport security
I’m pretty sure all those things actually do is put you at the front of the pre check line, where you are to receive the same perfunctory inspection as you always do. I don’t think these programs get you much other than that, but could be incorrect.

Unpopular opinion, perhaps, but the actual “random” inspection I sometimes get doesn’t irk me much. What does irk me is TSA’s complete inability to be consistent across stations in policy, practice and procedures.

I kinda thought they took you right to the x-ray, front of line type of thing. I’ll try to watch next time I see it, but honestly they seem to stand around even more than the blue meanies.

I'm gonna completely jinx myself, but I have had pretty good luck lately with KCM. Maybe it is getting a little better? Maybe I have just been lucky?

oh man, I haven't been around a ton lately, but last month I had 4 trips and didn't get randomed a single time.

hah touche. That being said, I am very superstitious about it. Like I will slowly follow a slow walking uniformed crew member that appears to be headed to the checkpoint, so that I am not the first one up at bat. Which doesn't make sense, because it isn't always the first person in a group. But it is a lot of times that I have observed. That, and I get to the airport way earlier than I need to, so maybe it is the world's way of saying "you didn't need to get through this time, but I have reserved your random for that one day that you are running late and you do". Like this young FA from another unnamed yet popular airline here. I was in precheck line after getting randomed in uniform, and I am next in line to put my bags up on the x-ray belt (like I was mid lift up with my bag) when said FA huffs and puffs up, elbows me out of the way, and then proceeds to take like an entire minute to deconstruct his luggage stack in a flurry of activity. I didn't say anything, but definitely gave him the "wtf" look. Last I saw of him, he was getting patted down, after setting off the metal detector multiple times and getting sidelined so the rest of us could move on.

I can never understand how CLEAR makes a profit when they require no fewer than seven people to staff their check-in.

I wish that were true. They are quite inconsistent with staffing. I went through Clear yesterday in BWI and there were only two employees working it.

I've departed DFW early in the morning at the D-gates and the Clear line was longer than the pre-check line, and harder to get through because they didn't have enough people.

Using them for events has been nice a couple times.

This right here. I’ll chuckle a bit if I don’t make it through KCM during an entire 4 day. Maybe shake my head sadly. What makes me boomer captain mad is when they ask me to take my ID out of the little holder or try to tell me that all uniformed crew need to START at KCM.

Fart Louderdale, looking at you here.
