Why...

Sarcasm meters are broken. I’m the last guy to hate RJ pilot experience. I remember taking comments by some NW guys ticked off at 9E’s growth at their expense. We were never good enough, and several times I had negative comments tossed our way. Even one of our senior guys at VX who was ex-US Air bemoaned how airline was hiring RJ guys and it wasn’t like that when he was hired.

Well, in our defense. We thought that you were being sarcastic when you said you liked Sbarro's. Then we found out you were being serious. Now we believe everything you say is serious. ;)

LOL

Yes I like Sbarros. But not if I go to NYC. Then I’m inclined to go to the local NYC type pizza joints. The fold ‘em style and let the grease fall out.

Now I want one!

I doubt that.

I've never been better than when I was flying 206's all over the country.
The Brasilia was the best I ever was; EM7 FO was downhill, CRJ CA was uphill, and then, well, I fly an Airbus now so all bets are off.

That said, I think you are largely the pilot that you allow yourself to be, in terms of smart handling. If you go full slovenly, it's on you. Doesn't matter what the equipment is.

the issue with the RNAV departures in CLT, at least in recurrent APDs eyes.... is that it is an RNAV departure (duh) with Headings.... people are flying it in NAV mode instead of HDG mode - track instead of heading in other words - that sometimes causes issues with parallel traffic
airplane specific.

airplane specific.
Uh, yeah. If they want a specific ground track, and not a heading, then they need to specify track, not heading.

Because uh, well, those are different, and anyone who's flown an airplane should know that, and if the specific track is required for separation, then that is what goes into the database, and it should be flown in that mode.

The fact that some FMCs happily generate a track output for a procedure heading, instead of simply turning the airplane to the heading, is regrettable for a bunch of reasons.

The SID says flying heading. So flying in NaV gives you a heading. And airbus flies the heading regardless of wind.

That’s why I replied.
Aye aye.

I mean, I don't care, in a big-bubble sense, as long as the desired performance is achieved and as long as the other pilot knows what you're doing, trajectory-wise and why. I also admit that letting people freestyle this is a terrible managerial decision.
