That was a maintenance snafu, not a pilot induced booboo.

Did MX drop it from a crane? That was a maintenance snafu, not a pilot induced booboo.
Did MX drop it from a crane?
Nope. Unpossible. From what I understand they forgot to put a bolt in, or put it in wrong, and the gear did what we see in the pic as the crew was taxiing to the runway.
Nope. Unpossible.
Who knows? Not enough people, time or money. What didn't happen was taxiing. If I were to guess it's a bad turnover between shifts working on the airplane and someone put it on the ground without the trunnion bolts. I apologize, I'd agree this is more than likely MX induced. It's still on the jacks in the picture. So what happened then?
Nope. Unpossible.
I'm not up on Charter rates, but that seems expensive....
Was he pretending to go for the third wire?I’m surprised no one posted this one yet:

It is extremely high. Or at least it used to be. Times are changing rapidly if you follow charter rates. High staff turnover on top of increased salaries for the people left are driving up costs.
Right now though, $5k an hour can get a person the Challenger 601 that I fly. Yet I still see Wheels Up doing a lot of flights in and out of our home base.
@Jimmy_Norton is right, the NTSB report on it cites improper maintenance procedures.

The "advantage" to Wheel Sup is they only charge for occupied hours, no charges for dead heads.
They charge somewhere between $4500 and $5000 an hour for a King Air. They can advertise it however they want, but trust me, they’re charging for the empty legs.
