Its tough. Even with it, there’s no guarantee of a legacy calling. And where’s the economy going to be then? I know F9 isn’t the best right now (either was NK before a contract), but being a RJ driver forever doesn’t sound fun either..

I see you’re a pessimist. If the economy is your concern you should worry about working for a nearly 100% leisure travel operation.

Will you get hired as soon as you get a degree? Probably not. Will your chances of getting hired increase with a degree? Exponentially. Will you be better off either way? Absolutely. What’s stopping you? Just you.

How dense are you? Maybe there was a suicide attempt in the family maybe it's an STD, or like everyone else pointed out maybe you have a right to privacy no matter what your case may be. A chief pilot or other manager has made no oath of confidentiality, like your doctor, and telling them is a huge liability for them not just you. I've had good chief pilots plug their ears and start humming when they've wrongly assumed I was going to tell them details like you're suggesting and a stupid one try to fish for details. Your lack of empathy, and the fact that you wanted to brag about your perfect attendance record, make you sound like you're 12.

Great people, but I believe we are all here to make money. Also, management has made such a toxic environment I think it's even hard to enjoy yourself great co workers or not. Final thought if they treat you like crap when times are good how will they treat you when things take a turn?
 
I've been at F9 for less than a year now, excluding the absolutely toxic environment that management has created and the ongoing contract BS....I thoroughly enjoy the crews and to top it off, I bid Long Call Reserve and have only worked 3 days this month while I sit at home the rest.

...but it will get worse before it gets better...we have a net gain of 9 aircraft to be delivered this year followed by something like 25+ next year and I have no idea how they plan to staff it with an 11 year old Bankruptcy contract,
 
The applicant well is almost completely dry as well. No idea how this is going to go here in the next year or so, but something is going to change, and soon. Only thing is, what’s it gonna be...

I worked for another Indigo outfit. O.k, ULCC is somehow special but it looks like your management is really special. Even for Indigo standards.

How many crews do plan for a "bus"?

Neither do they! Phoenix might have a master plan for this dumpster fire but the people in Denver aren't privvy to it, and therefore what you get is what you see.

Dude, you're leaving out the why. This is the first month they cancelled at least half of everyone's vacation! Prior to this month as a long call almost guaranteed you'd be flying everyday, I mean night and more red eyes than you could ever wish for. Management has spread plenty of inaccurate information they don't need help.

yeah not sure but after typing that i did get called for a 3 day, everyone that is on reserve in my crash pad is dealing with consolidation issues, i’ve been averaging only 15 hrs a month since IOE
