CPZ pilots and "DPI"

Who said they're getting a preferential interview in the first place? Someone posted the email and all it said was guaranteed interview, which is the same thing other airlines already have.

Years ago, when USAir was furloughing left and right, and "Boss" Hogg headed up the Jets For Jobs program, it was all enshrined in LOA 92 (or maybe 98? It's been forever). Anyhow, that LOA described (in great detail) how furloughed USAir pilots would flow down into the left seats (and eventually right seats) at some of the USX carriers, in exchange for those carries getting JETZ!!!!!lol!! What wasn't in great detail was the provision that allowed pilots at those USX carriers the ability to flow up to USAir once they started hiring again. There was one line, at the very end which said "Pilots will flow up per LOA TBD".

And...nobody flowed up from that. I did fly with one of the "stay behinds" though (He turned down recall to be a lifer at YX). That was interesting.

When did ASA ever do that? Had to have been after 2001.

I interviewed at ASA circa 2011 and took those tests, so yeah it was a thing.

There was some testing at various carriers but nothing really came out of it for the most part.

Then CPZ got "creative" as of recent and caused a kerfuffle. But at long as they made mainline look like bad guys, no harm no foul, right? :)

Except it isn't a guaranteed interview. And not even a preferential interview.... please reference post one in this thread.

When Compass was first created, they were essentially, NWA Junior. Their interview process was identical to Northwest's with the assumption that guys would be able to move up to the Big Leagues easily (not a flow though) because they'd already been screened to the standards required by NWA. Best I remember, that didn't survive the NWA/DL merger and certainly didn't survive the transfer of ownership to TSH.

Did they run a retraction/clarification to the "clarification email" this morning? They were told to.

No follow-on emails have come out in the last 24 hours.

Our monthly employee conference call is tomorrow so I’m guessing they will present some “alternative facts” tomorrow.

Maybe a representative from a mainline codeshare partner might care to join? [emoji6]

Actually when Compass was created, all pilots got a flow through due to the interview process. Even after the merger the interview process changed to the Delta process and flow eligible pilots continued to be hired until Delta sold CPZ to TSH.

Up until the point that CPZ was sold, the CPZ “MEC” was actually an LEC under the NWA/DAL MEC. This was ALPAs attempt to reign in scope during the NWA BK when they knew a judge was going to allow NWA to make another regional airline and allow 76 seaters. Part of that negotiation was that all CPZ pilots were represented by the NWA MEC and all pilots flowed up during hiring and flowed down during furloughs. The flow down language still survives to this day.

In July 2010 everything changed, Delta sold CPZ and the flow eligible pilots were everyone on property at the time. CPZ continued to use the DAL testing battery as part of the hiring process until the summer of 2015 when hiring standards needed to be dropped because the airline wasn’t getting enough folks in the door. TSH had some interns go through the DAL question bank and select 50 questions that they thought were easy and wham-bam that’s the new standard. Even when people couldn’t pass that test, they got hired if they were “close” to passing.

Now for the Delta Guaranteed/Preferential Interview thing that’s a different bag of worms.

A local light jet 135 near me actually pays a $50 bonus for go arounds.

So not only are they free but also profitable [emoji23]
There was a thread about this on the cesspool that is the “corporate aviation job listings” Facebook group a couple days ago.

That admin banned me from all his pages after asking why he allowed non pilots on his "professional jet pilot" page. Oh well.

It came about in a memo in the late 2010, early 2011 period. Long story short there was nothing in writing between the companies. It was billed as merely a handshake between people departments.

I’m just going to leave that right in the middle there.

Unfortunately there’s a lot of hearsay on what, if anything, was agreed to.

Outside of the recruiting advertisement/email that I posted, there isn’t any signed document to implement the handshake agreement.

At the end of the day it seems to be a false promise with both parties partially at fault. CPZ and TSH started selling the deal prematurely and I have reliable sources that say AK had agreed to it, “just waiting on the stamp of approval” only to have it fall off in never never land.

In today’s environment where fake news and alternate facts are the new norm, I’m not surprised.

As the Germans say, “c’est la vie”

Now where’s my flame thrower that Elon Musk sold me? I have some kids on my front lawn...

Yep, AK, HA, WN have all been rumored in the past as flow destinations for CPZ. Which one will be next? :-)

If you were told not to contact Delta Pilot Recruitment via Facebook with your questions about the issue, you were told wrong. This is not true and no, they’re not “getting mad” because you are reaching out.

Ungh......
