Proudly All...... well, something

Looks better? Nah. The rounded nose of the Airbus looks like the front of an actual turd.

I was pretty deeply entrenched long before my ATP had any B-Anything on it. I'm a 3rd generation Boeing guy. Dad works for Boeing. Grandpa worked for Boeing, and was an engineer on the design team of the 747. Uncle worked for Boeing. Other uncle worked for Boeing. Cousin worked for Boeing. A good number of my friends work for Boeing.

My Boeing-superiority comments are largely tongue-in-cheek, both companies make fine hardware. But still, it'll be a cold day in hell before I voluntarily bid an Airbus, if only to avoid the abuse I'd receive at family gatherings. ;)
Understandable I suppose, glad you said 747 and not 737. Not sure I'd tell any pilot I worked/knew some one who worked on that. Unless of course they fly for SWA or AK...

Personally I really hope the bring that rounded nose turd to SEA for us eventually.

Music to an Airbus pilot's ears.

And they can still hear that music. ;)

.
If it's too loud, you're too old!

And I suppose I should say... both companies make fine hardware.*

*Unless the goal is to miss the trees at an airshow in France.

I've flown both the 737 and it's competitor the Airbus.

Airbus by far.

If they could get the -321 to match the 757's performance characteristics, Boeing is simply going to be an "also ran" in the narrowbody department and it's going to go back to the old Airbus days of the 300/310.

I don't think Airbus can match the performance of the 757, in the 321. Without a new wing, the 321 is stuck.
The 321 is popular, because it's a 320. The 757 isn't a 737, which is why it died off.

Money.

The only people that hate the airbus are people that haven’t flown the airbus.

Carry on hating.

That said- I’m surprised they’re keeping the airbus fleet.

I'm a hater. It's comfortable and pays the bills, but it's got out of date technology that Airbus refuses to update. I'll happily bid off to the RJ if they ever put it on the west coast.

So, why didn't they re-wing the 321 for the NEOLR?

You mean it's not as fancy as the brand new 175 you used to fly?

EMB builds airplanes for pilots, the French build airplanes for engineers.

I like flying airplanes, not making recommendations to the computer that's actually flying the plane.

But again, it pays the bills, so I do whatever the boss tells me to. Doesn't mean I'm in love with the airframe.

I rode up front in a DAL 320 a few weeks ago to work and the noise level seemed pretty even with the 737. Jumpseat space was nice. Windows are bigger. Other than that? Meh.
