Not really.
The fact is Deltoid Management is trying to get a good deal on airplanes.
Fine.
However, the deal they procured is from a dying airplane company who dumped planes on the market. In a similar dumping scheme, a few short years ago Deltoid Management was screaming at the top of their lungs about, suing, and spending a lot of money to try to stop. They even got employee groups involved and pilots spent a lot of time (and money) trying to stop this dumping. I would even argue the Import Export Bank isn't nearly as egregious as what Bombardier did with their C-Series dump.
Issue is Delta Management (and their pilots) think that they can go up against Boeing. While some battles have been won, Boeing is well entrenched to stop this dumping scheme (when it doesn't benefit them). They have some of the deepest pockets out there and I question how long Airbus will want to deal with this. I am simply pointing this out.
Also,
@ian, this really has nothing to do with Trump. While I find it ironic that a good number of those in your pilot group supported Trump and still support him, Boeing, a well entrenched part of that 'swamp' is pulling the strings here and the Trump administration is doing as they ask. With that, this is so egregious no matter what party was in the White House I would have expected them to stop this C-Series dump from happening.
