Rough Day....

Not sure if it did a gate return or just needed to get something MEL'd after push.

Regardless, different than canceling the flight.
It helps to read the article first. Carry on...

Edit: I didn't read the article first, so I are pilot. Enjoy.

Not sure what that has to do with this thread.

What you and the points guy don’t seem to know is that there were a lot of pilots who didn’t show up at other hubs for their flights because of what happened in Atlanta.

Well, the power went out in ATL at 12:38 PM.

This picture on The Points Guy article was taken at 11:08 AM for a 12:31 PM Departure.

So, how could the power outage in ATL at 12:38 PM have effected a flight in DTW at 11:08 AM?

The pilot sicks out, and there is no short call reserve available, scheds goes fishing with a GS. Flight may be delayed, but it’ll be covered. Until they have bigger issues. Granted, why was there no short call coverage. Maybe both the original and reserve pilot sicked out. Or the reserve pilot thought he wouldn’t be used, so stayed home in wherever. It happens, even at United.

Once again it was canceled even before the other 'issue'.

Well aware it happens.
