One denotes still drinking, and the other, no longer drinking.
Alcoholics.
It isn't Recovering Alcoholics Anonymous, it is Alcoholics Anonymous.
I’ve dealt with alcoholism in my family. To a one, they all described themselves as recovering, once they actually stopped drinking. Just using their terms. But I guess you know better than them?
Imagine you're the average dimwitted passenger, and you see "puts alcoholic pilots back in the cockpit."
Just cause it's accurate doesn't mean it's a good title. Something can be both accurate and misleading.
That is part of the problem we are trying to correct towards HIMS. There is so much unjust stigmatization towards those with alcoholism and who make it through treatment.
That’s a great goal. It’s just not helped by this sensationalist headline.
But the title makes it seem as if there is a bunch of drunk pilots flying around.
