oh right...I didn't realize my opinion was in fact, fact. That's too bad.
When I was in Yuma, we used to drive out to El Centro and watch them practice before the start of the season. Pretty cool hanging on the fence and looking behind the curtain. I suggest it to anybody who's in the area, although I can't remember when we'd go out there. A little google-foo could answer that...

Should have seen the Blues out here at Los Alamitos practicing for a week before the Huntington show at the end of Sept. It was hella glorious on a daily basis for a week.

I knew “Shifty” Heard, the ousted T-Bird One, as a great aviator, a fine American, and an all-around class act.

Once upon a time, my soon-to-be wife moved to the UK (where I was stationed) while I was deployed to Afghanistan. He lent my wife a car for a week without ever having met either of us.

Hopefully, he’s able to dust himself off and find success in other areas.

Who knows... company Check Airman I did my 135 ride with is a former T-Bird solo, enjoys flying Phenoms part 91, stayed with us for a few months, said 135 isn't his thing and is back in 91. Never wanted to fly 121.

Took the boys to Andrews this year and we hung out to get some autographs. All the guys were great, but Commander Heard went above and beyond.
I got the picture of him signing our flag...

But when he looked up he noticed me and realized I was his Dad and saw the disappointment that I didn't get a good picture of the two of them.
He reached through the crowd and grabbed the arm of my kid who was already walking away and pulled him back over. He looked at me and said "let's get a good picture, Dad".
World class guy, if you ask me.
