Case in point!Every time I see that phrase I automatically correct it in my head to "treating people with respect."

News flash this stuff happens and if you dwell on it, it will eat you alive.Yeah, no. Going to disagree with this mindset that being unprofessional and a jerk, is just the student being a snowflake. There is a time and place for jokes, this will as neither.
Just because the industry is filled with people like him, doesn't mean it should be swept under the rug. Otherwise why don't we just sweep all the guard calls under the rug?
Ah, the classic "this stuff happens, get over it" argument.News flash this stuff happens and if you dwell on it, it will eat you alive.
Well the way I see it this student has two choices.Ah, the classic "this stuff happens, get over it" argument.
"I have no filter!"
Pretty dramatic choice that involves him quitting completely.Well the way I see it this student has two choices.
Choice one is to dwell on it and let it go to his head and mess him up and choice two is use it as motivation to improve to the point where he doesn't have to use student pilot on the radio anymore.
One choice results in him throwing in the towel and quitting because of all the jerks out there and the other in personal growth that will make him a better pilot.
Les facts live!Nobody came out of the womb with an ATP. Except Les.
He doesn't ask permission, he states intentions.Les facts live!
In ATC when you screw up the entire room will make sure you know it. When you do a good job you're just doing your job.
Apples and orangesNot excusing the GoJets pilot but it seems like the student took this way harder than he had too. If you get rattled by another plane saying "student pilot" how are you going to handle an engine failure?
I always try to go out of my way to be kind, let the new pilot have time over the radio, talk to kids who want to chat, answer the dumb questions no matter how dang tired or over it I may be at that point. I think it’s important to foster positive vibes in this community.
EXCEPT when I’m at the urinal. Dude, just stop talking, I don’t want to talk to you at the urinal.
And those who were bullied. These threads always make it easy to see who the bullies were in high school.
And those who were bullied.
I grew up in Canada. So I can't really comment on the American high school psyche, other than what I've seen on That 70's Show.
I agree with @wheelsup There are a lot of snowflakes out there.
There are also a handful of dicks in aviation.
Life isn't fair.
Work hard and make your own destiny.
Tell that to the captain I flew with a few weeks ago. Even if I was PM, he’d get on the radios and say something snarky or sarcastic. It was embarrassing.Radio Rules:
Rule #1: Never be a dick on the radio
Rule #2: Refer to Rule #1
