I read somewhere else that he couldn't find much money for his steam-rocketry follies. Once he attached the "Flat Earth" banner to it, the dollars came in.

I offer that he's playing the crazy card for funding.

Then, the GoFundMe campaign pulled in $8K, after he found the Flat Earthers. To date, the rocket has cost $20K.
