New Alaska/Virgin pilot mins

Fun fact, don't fill out everything aside from the "Tell us why you want to work here" and go to the end thinking you'll be able to go back tomorrow and fill it in with a well thought out answer. When you get to the end it doesn't ask if you want to submit, you just hit next and then it says "Thanks for your submission!"

Hopefully they like my response to their question, "Fill out tomorrow"

If it makes you feel better I said "will answer at interview and then included the YouTube link for the video "Ain't nobody got time for that."

Before anyone asks I included the auto tune version, ain't nobody got time to watch the remix version...

I have a question. Would I get a call if I decide to stay right seat in the RJ and build QOL over going to the left seat of the turboprop? I really want my weekends off.

I went to the FAPA job fair in SEA back in August and spoke with one of the BCPs. He said that while the 1k TPIC would be just a "preferred" qualification from now on, unless you're overly qualified in another way you probably won't be getting a call. Having someone walk in your resume to one of the CPs or attending a job fair were just a few of the ways he mentioned that could get you noticed.

Upgrading and logging TPIC shows career progression and a drive. Sitting comfortably in the right seat for years and years doesn't really show them much other than you like your weekends off.

I will say that the one thing he did gravitate towards was the "extra curricular" stuff I had on my resume. Being a part of the recruiting team, helping out with safety stuff, being a company instructor, etc. He said they love to see that on somebody's application. So that could possibly be a way in with >1k TPIC.

The only thing you can be sure of is that you WON'T get a call without applying! Best of luck!

Hey guys so I'm filling out the app and I'm just wondering if the chronological order of the job history matters. The app as far as I can tell does not state if the job history should be from oldest to present or present to oldest job. I'm assuming the application populates per the dates given on their end. Does it matter what order I put my job history down as?

yeah I just put in my buddies referral email incorrectly.....can't go back and change it.....super
...yeah, right?! I would’ve sworn that an application site would have a review, then submit portion. I filled everything out, but the resume I had previously on there was pretty outdated. FML.

I got hired with 8.6 hours of TPIC. 3150 total, and about 2350 of DHC-8.

Always apply. Apply if you don't meet the mins, apply if you do meet the mins. Apply, apply, apply. I do have a Bachelor's degree, but it was required at the time.

I saw on the application that you can choose to apply for either Boeing or Airbus. Is there a way to apply for both?

And depending on your qualifications it's like talking to the prettiest girl at the party. Instant no but at least you tried :P

That's a very wrong, misleading and harmful piece of information on girls.

Always hit on the prettiest girl.
All the normal dudes automatically think she's out of their league and stay away, so the douchebags that think they are the greatest thing are the ones she has to deal with and tell to eff off. If you are a decent dude you have all the chances in the world.

True story. I transferred my senior year to a new HS. The prettiest girl in the class was dating an average joe, no jock. I asked her one day how he managed that. She told me that she used to sit home on the weekends because all the guys thought she was out of their league and wouldn’t even talk to her.

He asked her out and she was initially so desperate to go on a date, she said yes, but then got to know him and realized he was actually a really nice guy. No idea if they ever lasted through college or after, but I always thought of that couple as a lesson of “Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead!”
