Island Air CEO just announced tomorrow (11/10) will be last day of operations. Been in BK for about 3 weeks and apparently have no viable plan for exiting. About 400 employees that hopefully can find other jobs in a hurry.
Sorry to all the employees ... but to confirm flights are running normal schedule tomorrow, 10/10? Parents are in Kauai.
You have that many fos unqualified to upgrade?Well, I hear that quite a few are coming to QX...and with the experience in it already are potentially going to be street Captains for us.
1000hrs of qualifying time = upgrade right nowYou have that many fos unqualified to upgrade?

You realize Hawaiian is a low paying job too. It'll be a pay cut for even 1st year FOs.Same thing at OO as well. Hawaiian is re-opening their hiring window again to let island air people apply. Sounds like a sweet deal, preferential hiring from a low paying job to Hawaiian.

Who picks up their flying?

It's a little bit messed up how eager skywest guys are to crawl over the backs of guys who just lost their jobs so they can take their flying.
You talk like Skywest undercut island air and forced their bankruptcy. You can’t even peg this one on OO management much less the line pilots. It's a little bit messed up how eager skywest guys are to crawl over the backs of guys who just lost their jobs so they can take their flying.
