has anybody heard of this YouTube pilot? I watched his new videos that show his time at mokelele airlines. Does this guy rub anyone else the wrong way? I'm just curious what the general pilot population thinks of this spoiled kid.
 
I find 99% of pilots are nerds in one way shape or form.
If a guy wants to sell his nerdiness as a product for others to follow on YouTube, all the power.
As long as they don't showcase their ignorance of FARs etc (looking at you jerryW) all the better.

I'd buy the kid a beer (if he's old enough at least) should our paths cross. Same with the other jabroni's who put up YouTube videos.
 
Cool website, well made videos. Doing a straight up recruiting ad for Mokulele was a little over the top but I don't get people on the internet who somehow have a problem with this guy who haven't even met him.
 
I've never met the guy, but I don't really see anything to be upset about. I think it's great that he's using the position he is in (both at Mokulele and in life) to encourage others to join him. I'd definitely jump on the opportunity he just announced in partnership with Mokulele, if I had Comm/Inst ratings.

Besides that if you look at Mokulele there SIC caravan mins are pretty low. Around 250 - 300 hours if I remember right. Not like the kid caught a 2500+ hour challenger pic job. Just a young man climbing the ladder like all of us are either attempting to or currently doing.
 
Seems like a regular aviation nerd with a camera. I hope he has a successful career! I wonder how long it took him to get permission to do all the filming at Mokulele.

Probably not that long. In the video of his first flight he says he worked with management and FAA for permission to film while carrying passengers. I don't know how long the process is between first being hired and your first flight though.

And as for the videos themselves, they make me want to fly for Mokulele.
 
It's got to be tough to live on a Caravan FO salary in Hawaii. Maybe he has like 10 other roommates or the company provides some sort of housing.

The most recent video, talking about the recruitment priority, suggests Mokuleke is very on board and sees his videos as a marketing opportunity.

Yea no kidding..im no expert but I can't imagine the cost of living there can be any cheaper than California or anywhere else. I'd be curious to know how you can make it out there on a Caravan SIC spot. Believe they are the only company I've seen though that offers a SIC slot for a 208. Could be wrong though.

In one of his posts he says "Ill be working as a Caravan SIC this summer..." so maybe it's just a short term gig?
