Okay, this Amelia Earhardt stuff is officially over the cliff . . .

Maybe I'm missing something here, but how is a photograph the most stupid evidence yet of all the searches over the years?

I mean, if this photo [from the national archives?] is real, and the location in the photo's caption is real, then what's with the white guy and white woman in the picture?

And what is the ship in the background towing, anyway?

Isn't an actual image from a camera worth more than dozens of fruitless searches through the atolls by various groups?

Maybe we've all be conditioned to tossing this Amelia search stuff into the "this again? who cares..." section of our brain. I probably have.

But perhaps the answer is right in front of us in the form of a photograph.

.

I say that because the picture resolution is of such low quality that it's impossible to say who it may depict. Mr. Noonan's face is completely obscured by shadow. Ms. Earhardt isn't even facing the camera. Yet, the author claims you can see Mr. Noonan's distinctive receding hairline and prominent nose, that Ms. Earhardt is obviously in the picture because it depicts someone in short hair and wearing pants, and that the barge is towing something exactly 38 feet in length, matching the Electra. Bull . . . loney! And the photo? According to the video, it dates "about 1937".

You can't tell if the two people are "Caucasian" or that the person sitting and staring off into the distance is even a woman. Sorry, but this whole presentation was really weak with a lot of speculation and absolutely nothing concrete to back up the leaps in logic that were made. And the 38 feet remark? Puhleeze. Based upon what, exactly, was the precise measurement made?

Oh man, I was solidly in the Mary Ann camp as a kid but these days ..... it's a coin toss.

Which one is which?

My wife showed me the piece a news station did on this newest development. Then she asked me if I'd like to watch the special they mentioned the History Channel is going to do on it.

A 2 hour special just from this newly surfaced photo? The same History Channel that cites alien conspiracy theorists as experts on why dolphins might be from outer space and may have built the pyramids? No thanks.

I'm very skeptical of this "new evidence". I'm willing to listen with an open mind, but I'm skeptical.
