Skywest Questions

That's the whole reason behind them being in the JS and displacing commuters. They don't believe our stories about their subpar "upgrade"

I'm not even on the E-jet, but I still read the FOIBs (I have a very fulfilling life, I swear). "Yipe."

Paragraph (b) is "commute responsibly."
Yes. I'm by no way saying it's great we don't have a policy because if there's an earlier flight with 30+ open, but I don't want to show up that early when the next flight is oversold by 10 so I'll "try" the oversold. Nope nope nope. Whole lotta nope.

Indeed.

Commuting irresponsibly, of course, is only a problem when you don't make it...as we have amply discussed above.

Not sure if Crew Sched could have gotten me on that flight. Maybe by putting me on a dead head which was not allowed as PDX was not my domicile. Now if I had called travel center, they may have been able to help. That I really kick myself about for sure.

I had them PS to domicile once when I had a commute issue related to canceled flights.

I am trying to figure out the reserve proffering stuff. After looking it over it seems a lot of it is what we already had before. Are there any major differences that i'm missing here? I am relatively new so maybe I don't know what we had before as well as I think I do.

You don't.

You have zero control over your assignments now, other than toggling Call First. And that's evaluated if and only if multiple pilots are available for the assignment being assigned/awarded after considering bucket and then whose RAP starts closest (etc.).

This, on the other hand, will award or assign open time trips according to your proffer and subject to limitations 120 hours prior to the start of the trip.

As soon as the new SAPA site is up and running:stir:
let's not start on THAT one either.

let's also merely state I enjoy using my free time for graduate school instead.

In all seriousness (1) effect and (2) the thought is 01September but we'll see what IT does.

Almost certain the company wouldn't PS me right there and then. I think I may have poorly communicated the sequence of events in chronological order that evening causing some people to think that the Delta flight was my last option and I just let it go without a fight...

I had four options that evening.
-530pm Delta(OO)
-6pm AS(OO)
-7pmAS(QX)
-8pmAS(QX) This was a tight option, but considering my departure gate was close by for a 9pm show it would have been doable under normal circumstances.

The Delta flight was one of four. The AS SkyWest flight would have worked out. They had even started boarding then the crew found a mx issue, which delayed the flight until 930 pm. I made it on that flight later on, just too late for my show. The Horizon flights were all completely full due to delays all day, they hadn't sent a plane to SEA since 330 that day. That was a detail I failed to get prior to leaving when I did as well. But that is why I did not think of calling CS when the Delta flight left, because I believed I still had options at that point in time.

I get it, sitting back and quarterbacking the situation it seems like I made some wrong moves. Trust me, I was not trying to lose my job that night, quite the opposite actually. I can promise you that.

Now that I have beat this horse to death, I'm going to stop talking about it and derailing the SkyWest thread so people can continue to get useful info or weird YouTube videos via @Autothrust Blue and company :)
