Background Check Advice

Curious what you guys would recommend saying when I call HR? Should I include some of the false statements i was accused of saying? Just not sure what i should say.
I would stand down on contacting HR before talking with a good attorney and pulling your own records. You don't want to voluntarily divulge to the company information that they might not actually have access to when that information is not relevant or legally required for you to divulge. And you don't know for sure what they are seeing. As @Pilot Fighter suggested, they may NOT be seeing what you think they're seeing. It's the old tried and true rule: in court, never ask a question to which you do not already know the answer.

Sounds like you may have failed to report the removal from training/grounding and that caused the recending of the CJO... there's a chance that PRIA revealed the incident in your training records vice the background investigation via police reports.

Pria is for only 135 and 121...and he was not removed from a training program, just put on a flight hold which can be for lots a stuff.

PRIA requires records from any employer where you worked as a pilot, even if it was part 91. However part 91 employers of course aren't required to keep many records in the first place. Also I don't believe it requires records from flight schools you were trained at, but not employed at.

"Flight holds" are certainly common at flight schools, at the one I did most of my training at they were usually for financial reasons.

We are going to sue...

You.
The Flight School.
The Airline.
The Police Department

Seriously, there's some schies...er attorney somewhere who is going to make a mint here if he is willing to roll the dice and put in the time.
I always thought the term was "solicitor" or "barrister."

...I lived with roomates who sold drugs, partied, and drank from the dorm room. As a result, I spoke to my RA who called the police and one of the roomates was arrested.Afterwards, my roomates fabricated a story about me and made some allegations that are embarrassing. The accusations include homicidal and suicidal statements along with wanting to fly an airplane into the ground and kill lots of people on campus
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand what did we learn about snitching?

Did you try, you know, to like request a different room saying it wasn't working out or talking to your room mates about not dealing in your dorm before you got the cops involved? That might have had a better outcome. Seeing as the fact that college students having the audacity to drink in their dorm room is a notable offense to you, I have to wonder if your roomies were really drug dealers or just threw friends some weed here and there for a fee otherwise known as a "fade in" and you got them caught up for nothing but possessing a plant. Either way, you're lucky all they did was start that rumor. Things could have been a lot worse for you there, bud. I hope you learned from it.

If the choices you make can come back to bite my career in the ass, niceties are off the table. What would you have him do when they got stupid and got busted? "But I asked them nicely not to!"

"Hey, I'm not getting along with my new room-mates, they're too loud and distracting for me and we keep getting into confrontations that are getting in the way of my academics".

vs

"OMG! DRUGS! YOU HEAR ME?! THERE. ARE. DRUGS. PARTIES. AND.....HARD. LIQUOR. THERE. In that room. HELP! I DON'T WANT TO GO TO JAIL!".

I have a feeling what was discussed was less of the first example and more of the second. As evidenced by the fact the OP continued to live with these gentlemen until after the "Aloha Snackbar" investigation had closed.

I highly, highly doubt the OP(who obviously wasn't in the same social circle with these guys) would have had anything more than a discussion with the police if they ever did in fact get involved over issues at the dorm. I mean, this is real life. People are paired up in dorms all the time at random and I'm sure drugs are found in dorms every day without barking dogs nipping at the heels of the innocent party that just sleeps there. Discretion is fine, but drugs and crime are part of life and it is best to learn how to cooly navigate these situations in a way that doesn't put a target on your back. Seriously.

Yes, I'm sure there's no chance the OP tried other solutions before notifying the RA ( which isn't that extreme in itself). If I had roommates/ housemates who were "possessing a plant" I certainly wouldn't tolerate it, since it could affect my career. Suppose the college staff or the police believed the OP had been using marijuana as well? A marijuana conviction or even arrest would be a career- ending scandal as a pilot. I don't blame the OP at all for notifying the RA about the lowlife roommates. As for "having the audacity to drink", if the OP was underage at the time that could have been a major black mark as well if the authorities believed he was also drinking.

"Lucky all they did was start a rumor". Are you suggesting that they should have taking more extreme actions to get revenge? Or that lying about others to end their career or get them in trouble with the law is appropriate? Unbelievable.

We live in two very different worlds, friend, and that is OK. You stick to your guns and I wish you all the best in your career.

But no, I do not wish physical harm on the OP. But, legit drug dealers don't play around, and even if they were just kids, I've seen things not go so well for people who had anything to do with the arrest of one of their friends, even if the end result of an arrest was unintentional. And for that reason, whatever your morals, it is best to learn how to play it cool and just step around those situations without stepping on any toes. In general.

My RA's were.... Not professionals.

One was the loudest, most obnoxious idiot I've ever met, before or since. People did drugs in the dorm all the time, good luck getting anyone to do anything about it.

One guy would drink cases of Corona, piss in the bottles, and leave them in the hallway.

I met some awesome people, but 2 years was enough.

What I meant, part 91 does keep records, I can look them up. But they can not release them unless the FAA or NTSB is investigating something.

I'm confused about where all of this "code of the streets" stuff is coming from. The guy talked to his RA about a bad roommate situation, and as far as I can see, that's all he did. Is there some posting I'm missing or are you telepathic?
I mean the talk with the RA ended in an arrest and a rebuttal so...must have been about more to this talk than just looking for a different sleeping arrangement. I'm not advocating any code of the streets, just staying out of hot water with drug dealers and their friends.
