Delta meltdown part...4?

Oh Marcus, it was certainly "amazing" when you applied and interviewed several years ago, n'est-ce pas? :)

Looking back, best thing that ever happened to me when I didn't get the job.

Oh, the Delta twitter feed has been awfully quiet making snarky remarks to other airlines since Wednesday I presume? Karma is a bitch and throwing rocks at glass houses come to mind to pass along..:)

Happiness is a good thing, however your @Cherokee_Cruiser-like addiction to the subject is, well, strangely fascinating and not indicative of happiness.

I got turned down by American back in 1997 and didn't think a thing about it afterwards. No anger, no bitterness, no pithy "OMG! AA isn't the only airline with a hub in DFW!" (at the time).

Find peace. I'd be just as proud of my career and my team if I was working for, I don't know, TWA at the time.

Yeah, but we all know that HAD you gotten it you'd be Delta's number one fan. Whatever you happen to be doing at the time, or whatever you happen to be driving, suddenly becomes BEST THING EVAR!

No idea. A DL buddy sent it to me. Apparently it's something worth waiting 5+ hours for though.

And tell your buddy that unless he's into a day off, they'll call you when they figure it out.

If this current generation of pilots were around during 9/11, there'd be madness. I sat in a hotel in BOS almost a week, still under the footprint of my original pairing, and the DFW CPO said "hey, if they don't call you before 4pm, consider the night off. If you're approaching your off day, call DFW and then they'll take care of the rest".

This is only as challenging as you make and then complain on social media about it.

Not so easy to just wait it out if you're trip gets messed up and now you need a hotel/transportation while out of base.

I heart my company credit card.

There were times early in my regional career where I literally couldn't afford to fend for myself if the company dropped the ball. It's nice not having to worry about that.

Company card sounds nice. If push comes to shove in an IROP I'll pay for the room and expense it. But last IROP the hotel was sold out and only had rooms the company had bought for us. So we had to wait for the company to send a fax. Lol a fax in 2017.

Almost had to do that this evening, but a bunch of phone calls to scheduling and a 2 hour wait eventually got us a hotel. Did end up paying for a cab instead of trying to find the shuttle they set up for us.

I discovered I've gotten really rusty on this whole overnight thing.

What/where did you break?

I flew a 4-day for the first time in a long while last week. It was strange. Garbage, instead of full pairings, normally lands in my lap owing to how our system works.

The fact that we even have to compare 9/11 to a day of thunderstorms is completely ludicrous.
