Aviation New Year's Resolutions

I never really did well with New Year's Resolutions. Instead, this year, I'm going with a mission statement. Mission Statement 2017: Complete Flight Training. After all, I quit my job and moved here to do just that, so, kinda got to get it done.

Break 30k on my W-2.. Big goals!

You will if you're starting now CRJ in a junior base such as ORD at SkyWest. It helps if you pick up a lot of open time trips, too. I'm close to $45k first year here. Not the most impressive but at least I'm not starving thank the aviation gods.

CFI, CFII, SES, Tailwheel Endorsement, get started on building my Bearhawk, and buy a plane, like a Taylorcraft F-19, Super Cub, etc that I could put on wheels, skis, or floats so I can start building SES time.
MEI would be the icing on the cake too, but we'll see...probably do MEI and MES in 2018.

Where for MES? That's my 2018 possibility too. I did MEI back in 2014. (American Flyers C-310)

For 2017, get hired in an aviation instructor (lecturer) role and maybe visit Mojave for an upset recovery program. (and 66HIT, always my yearly bugbear)

Like a yellow ribbon help only or to also help with BHA and living expenses.

Well...so the great thing is that we'll be a private organization, so we can do what ever the hell we want.

The initial concept was active duty/vets who are trying to get ratings on the side. These folks don't need living expenses, but the 60% GI bill funding just isn't good enough for many. On top of that, going the technical training route through the GI Bill (vice an institute of higher learning) often requires the trainee to forward-fund training until the VA comes through. That's a big hurdle for many.

Not sure where I'll get my MES. Haven't looked into it much, too many other 50m targets to knock out first.
I'd love to do it in Michigan, but not sure if there's anywhere in Michigan to get it done.
Probably do the MEI at a local FBO.

Wow, good to see so many moving ahead. My goal is to win the lottery or hit a jackpot in Vegas so I can tell the "Man" to shove it, and everyone moves up a number.

Conversely, if I can figure out how to only fly one trip a month but get paid the full enchilada, that works too.

Uh, well. I can tell you a place you can do that, right now, but you might not like it.

That's basically been me since upgrade, and not for a lack of hustle.
