Is not having a bachelor degree an automatic nope with the companies wanting them?

It certainly doesn't make it easier, but often solid resume with lots of experience will make up for it.

There ARE companies that will not look at you without a degree... It is considered a senior management position and that level requires it throughout, not just flight ops...
I notice that most of the response seem to revolve around who you know, not what you know. Obviously you have to a certain amount of base knowledge (certificates, ratings, flight time) but after a certain amount you are as "qualified" as you're going to get. The rest of it is about the rest of you; i.e. what kind of person you are, and what other things you bring to the table besides the aforementioned certificates, ratings, and time. And of course, networking.
It reminds me of a saying I recently heard, that is attributed to Mike Rowe: "Don't follow your dreams, follow your skillset". It sounds like a good corporate pilot job is one that finds you, not the other way around.
If I had known then what I know now- an FSI copilot I would have been right after college. Crazy networking opportunity. Put in a year, get a type and then get a job. And you make more than a CFI does.
Many of my former "SIC's" are now sitting in big iron, making big money. VFR direct G550 right seat etc.
That sounds absolutely awful.Somebody puts an employee disciplinary notice on my desk, and I can have a corrective action plan together in a minute.
