So much for the "Your (Delta) application must be 40 pages!"

Yup. The worst is from a certain west coast airline. "You're stealing our flying!! Um... I live in MSP but am based in LAX. If you want to go down this road, can you guess why that is? When is your MSP upgrade coming? We go where mainline tells us too. You're welcome for the ride"
Kewl story bro.

Don't be mad because one of your guys did it. There's numerous stories of this happening. Another friend of mine got confronted in the SFO cafeteria for stealing flying.
ONE of your guys did it?

I thought this place was supposed to be the anti APC.

Maybe you should read the little professionalism speech posted above.

Well, guess what? If that really happened, that "guy" is a dumbass. I've had a couple of bad experiences with Horizon pilots, but damn dude... I sure don't think that whole pilot group is like that. That would be pretty odd to say the least.

I've been at "the west coast regional" you're referring to for over five years. I've been in both seats, several airplane types, and four bases. Not once have I flown with someone that mentioned anything about "stolen flying", most likely because that's the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

It is.

If any professonal pilot is going to scream "TUK ARRR JABZ" when they know damned well marketing makes fleet choices completely independently of what internet sentiment is needs a reality check.

"Hey! Your (Airbus) category took our long SEA layovers!"

"Yeah, broseph, we all literally walked into marketing and pleaded for 'your' trip. GO COLOR".

I'm sorry, that was kind of mean I guess.

But if I was a regional pilot and another professional pilot accused me of personally "stealing" anything, I immediately know that I don't have the ability to have an educated, cogent discussion on the topic. I don't take it personal, just like the vagrant on the street corner telling me that I'm a heartless bastard for not giving him a dollar from the window of my car.

I totally agree, I don't think anyone is arguing it isn't.

I do have a question for you guys. Got this email today from DAL:

Your application indicates that you have worked as a civilian flight instructor but you have either not listed any flight instructor qualifications on the application or you have failed to list where you were employed as a flight instructor. Please list your applicable flight instructor ratings and/or your instructor employment on the application even if you no longer maintain these certificates.

Thanks for your interest in a pilot position at Delta Air Lines!

Sincerely,

The Delta Pilot Selection Team

...So, I go to Airline Apps, my flight instructor cert #, issue date and ratings are all there, my 2 jobs I worked as a full-time CFI are there, complete with the position listed as "Flight Instructor". Anyone else get a fix-it email similar to this? I just don't want to do nothing and be removed from consideration. Any ideas? Help!!!

While it's possible @Derg 's friend can help you out, best bet would probably to post this question on their pilot recruitment facebook page.

On the surface it would appear that somebody reviewing apps over there missed reading a section of yours.

Thanks. I started composing a message to them, but wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something. Just wanted to check with you guys first before I sent them a message.

Thanks again,
TW

I know it's not exactly what the email asked for, but does your app show where you did your training for your CFI? I had mine as "professional development" under education. Again, I know it's not what the email said but it kind of reads like a generic form letter so maybe that's what they were looking for?

Thanks. That's a good idea. I did not, but I just added it. DAL Pilot Recruiting folks replied to me very quickly via Facebook yesterday and said they couldn't think of what it would be, but would look into it today.

Thanks all for the tips!

Just got a response back from DAL Pilot Recruiting via Facebook. Looks like my update for Professional Development for my flight training and CFI certs was the missing link after all. Looks like I'm good to go now. Appreciate the help!

Just came by to give ya'll an update... my app is now 38 pages. So close... anyone have any ideas for getting the next couple pages knocked out?

Two spaces after the end of every sentence, bring the margins in a couple thousandths, bump up the font a half point

College was a blast
