Well, durrrrrrrr, Barrister.

I did one in Denver a couple days ago and this is what happened. One agent was down, two late flights, people losing their shizzle because of connections. She really didn't know why we were late because she didn't have that information.

So I offered.

"Ewwwwwwwww mah gerrrrd, could you?" #DenverAccent

Next time I do one at the gate I'm going to start it out with, "Hello, I'm Captain Doug Taylor of The Cant..."
 
If I'm the PF but I need to go off the COMM for some reason (very rare PA, usually an ARINC call), I'll quickly brief and pass the controls to the PM. Is that how the "CA always does the PA" shops do it? I just figure it's best for the other pilot to steer the ship while I'm out of the loop.
