His entire role on 30 Rock was amazing! Hilarious! Especially the one where he is enforcing "Sky Law" -

"Maybe you just want to fly the plane yourself. Well good luck pressing Take Off, then Autopilot, then Land!" :D

and

My god, sorry this looks awful. How can they turn a 3 minute event into a 120 min movie. Stupid stupid stupid.

Hanks is good, but he tends to play pretty similar roles. There is a certain earnest-guy sense that he brings - and he chooses roles appropriately. You wouldn't see him branch too far out to play, say, a Bond villain.

His kid Colin, in some ways, has broader chops. He's picked some interesting roles - including serial killer - and done pretty well. I think we can expect great things from him.

Exactly, are we to believe Sully is some fragile human PTSD victim? I mean come on, they are reaching here to make some drama. Want to watch a movie about the event, watch a NatGeo documentary.

I don't think that is necessarily the point. He had instant celebrity status and I believe it would be easy to understand how going from a relatively anonymous person to a guy labeled a hero on the news all the time, recognized everywhere, and having to tell his story over and over and over and over, anyone would be overwhelmed and not adjust very well. I admire the guy, even if he alienated any pilots outside of the majors. It is extremely difficult to make all pilots happy. Scratch that, impossible! :D

I didn't read his book, but I'm sure it discussed more than the crash. I'm sure they overplay a lot for the sake of making a movie, but at the same time, I'm sure they didn't put anything in the movie so egregiously erroneous that Sully wouldn't have signed off on it.
