AA.

MIA, best retirement numbers, Lots of wide bodies. Also has the absolute worst culture and management/employee relations but whatever, maybe they will all get drunk again and drive off a cliff.

I personally think that you, and all the other United voters, should seriously consider Delta. It is the number one airline across the Atlantic after all.

That culture doesn't fit everyone. United fits some people better, as does American, and every other airline out there. Some people really think they can just settle for any airline but I would think recruiters would see right through that. Delta has a lot of pilots who are passionate about flying, that are huge ambassadors in the community. That isn't for everyone. Nor is wearing the super awesome hat. ;)

It was a joke... relating to less competition for me.

EVERY airline has pilots who are passionate about flying and are ambassadors in their community.

Tell me...how Delta is different than Alaska?

This thread is nothing more than a verbal masturbation exercise.

I remember, back in 2007 I was in a Skywest Jumpseat and the three of us were talking career paths forward. When I mentioned Continental they started laughing at me hysterically because they said '....HAHAHAHAHA..... they don't have any West Coast bases, they hardly have international flying (they were wrong with this btw), their contract (surprised they knew what a contract is) sucks, we are wasting our time putting in an application in there...HAHAHAHAHAH....it is ALL about Southwest or United'.

Fast forward those that were at Continental have plenty of options for junior West Coast bases at their finger tips, even more international flying, and a great contract. Cultures change over time and it is foolish to put your eggs all in one basket by not applying everywhere. You don't know what the future will hold at Delta over United or American. Honestly, you can't really tell a company's culture from not working within the company. You would have never have guessed a year ago Alaska was going to have a base in JFK.

Be hungry folks, apply everywhere, interview everywhere you can, see what sticks.

Because KDA? ;)

Is it true in the news recently that Delta is pulling out of SEA-LHR and instead will be operated by Virgin Atlantic only on this route? This joint venture stuff is getting out of hand and while it can be great for the airline's bottom dollar and profits, in the end it's less American jobs flying to those international destinations. As joined AS pilots, since we don't do any widebody international flying it seems the business model for that already relies on codeshare and joint ventures. But scope is an absolute essential element going forward for a JCBA. No one at either airline wants to see B737-700s or A319s parked and Horizon or Skywest get more E175s.

Virgin will be doing SEA/LHR and the Delta metal will be moved to JFK/EGPH, (I believe.)
