So Delta is tying a collective base/seat group's sick call percentage to extra vacation days? Apparently 1 extra vacation day if a certain metric is met (not exceeded), and then if an even better metric is met, 2 extra vacation days. Not sure how incentivizing a lower sick rate for more vacation is a good idea.
Less sick calls, less staffing needed. It's all about $$$

At least that's my thought process.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Again.

@Derg He's actually close to right this time. If say, ATL 73N A, (heh, heh, seggy,) has a collective sick call in rate below whatever rate the fourth floor sets for a certain period of time, everyone in that category is awarded an additional vacation day. Do it two years in a row, get two days.

That's insane. How is that even legal contractually?

OK, so I looked it up, Sec 14, Para K, 4. for those with the home version of the PWA, and it is for a combined CA/FO category in base. Basically buys you a supplemental vacation day to be used as an IVD (individual vacation day.)

We have the ability to purchase extra vacation days and this just adds up to two extra days to the bank.

Obviously defer to you for the actual wording, but from what I took from my friends text was that it was 1 vacation day if a collective group's base/seat sick versus total pay was below a certain percentage (call it X%). And then 2 days if that same percentage was below a certain threshold from X%. Then again he has a propensity to beotch about anything and everything and could just be flat out wrong.

Our shop had a one-time offer of 4 free buddy passes if you had perfect attendance from April - September. Reading between the lines, trying to incentivize attendance (not call out) for the busy summer months. In this case though, it was mgt's offer and pilots had no say. If I read you correctly you're this is contractual agreed upon language, which would at least suggest the union (more or less) signed off on it too.

Not my business. All I can say is one of my biggest pet peeves for the month of January is when I catch someone else's allergies. "Hey, I don't think it's really pollen season in January, and besides, you see that yellow snot hanging from the corner of your nose? That's a viral infection."

@Cherokee_Cruiser you have a weird obsession with SJI...
