Any idea how much prep is needed to get that Viper to flying status? Not so much the conversion to fly remotely, but more of a how close to flight status are these airplanes preserved?
I would love to tour those boneyards. In boneyard Type 4000 storage, are:
A-10A 77-0225, a Desert Storm veteran formerly of the 76th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 23rd Tactical Fighter Wing, England AFB, Louisiana. In storage since October 1991, and recently released for dull scrapping.
F-15A 75-0047, formerly of the 125th Fighter Interceptor Wing/159th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, Florida ANG at Jacksonville. In storage since Sept 2007.
Four F-16s in the last pic:
F-16C 85-1426, formerly of the 113th Fighter Wing/113th Fighter Squadron, District of Colombia ANG at Andrews AFB, MD. In storage since Sept 2010.
Next to it is F-16C 84-1384, formerly of the 158th Fighter Wing/134th Fighter Squadron, Vermont ANG at Burlington IAP. In storage since August 2010.
Next to it is F-16C 83-1129, formerly of the 56th Fighter Wing/309th Fighter Squadron, Luke AFB, AZ. In storage since August 2010, this aircraft is very historically significant, as it along with a few others, were redesignated as A-16s and repainted in European One "lizard" camouflage paint, intended as replacements for the A-10 Thunderbolt which was being phased out at the time.
Last in pic is F-16C 85-1452, formerly of the 56th Fighter Wing/61st Fighter Squadron, Luke AFB, AZ. In storage since August 2010.

I can't recommend SEA or PDX overnights to any of y'all that have them...this NW weather is seriously starting to drag on me...

It is the best jumpseat in the industry. I mean, if I'm going anywhere on my time, I always check our flights first. Middle seat in a 73 or something you can actually sleep in and an almost 100% chance of getting on? Plus no taxes.
