Would love to hear more from people currently at Allegiant or recently there. I know you likely will not post anything bad about them if you work there, so lets try this.
1. Would you advise a Regional FO who is a year from Capt upgrade to go to Allegiant if he would choose to live in base? His goal is a career at either Southwest, Jet Blue, or a major.
2. Presently makes about 30/hour and Capt gets him to a bit more than double that. His benefits are so bad Obama Care is better than the company plan, so he has that. Seems financially close to a lateral move in comp, agree?
3. Did you go from a regional to Allegiant? Was it a good decision? Would you do it again if given the chance?
Thanks.
Are you posting these questions expecting an answer for free and then charging folks for career counseling?

I was a regional FO 3 years in 4 years from upgrade many. I did live in base for a bit at my regiona, though I did move to the base so I didnt have to commutel. I"m originally from The PHX area and After I leave the 757 in Feb of next year I'll be on the AB out of IWA .

It was a later move for me to go for 4th year pay to 1st yr pay here. But second year pay here is more then I would have made if I could have upgraded to CA at my regional.

Yes, its not a major but Its better then the regional I was at.
Where did you go after Allegiant?
TexasFlyer. If I were you I'd consider Allegiant. Bigger airplane looks better on a resume if you want the best shot at an upper tier job. I'm not defending the place but I see much criticism coming from people who don't work there. If I were you I'd find some guys that really work there and buy them a beer. On your next couple days off go jumpseat on them and try to get an honest feel for the place. The airlines recent history is out there for everyone to see and it's easy for people sitting on a soap box to give an overly negative opinion. If the job works for YOU, then take it.

He said that he is getting ready to upgrade soon, wouldn't it be better to upgrade and start collecting valuable PIC time? Than having only SIC time even on a bigger jet?
These days who knows, but we all know how a year away from upgrade can go to years away from upgrade.
I read on another site that a good combination for a serious look from the majors is, 1000 hrs of PIC. Then switch to Allegiant, Spirit/Jetblue/Frontier etc for bigger jet time.
1000 TPIC is always a good thing to have
Lemme check…
Nope, just at 772 so I can almost apply for a major!
