XJet too

Xcaliber

El Chupacabra
In addition to Envoy, my friends are telling me XJet will be getting retention bonuses as well. The only thing I've heard is $7500 paid at the end of the year. Anyone have more details?

Shouldn't they be getting bonuses for new hires too. Their problems are not only keeping pilots due to long upgrade (from what I'm told, by a few of their pilots). But also attracting new talent as well, due to their current long upgrade.

What is considered a long upgrade time anymore? I don't even know what XJet was at...I thought they advertised 4 years or something?

When I left L-ASA last year, upgrade was eight years.

Edit to add:
A friend currently on property believes upgrade is seven years, and will drop to four years after another 200 pilots upgrade. This is on the CRJ side.

Yeah, my buddy was starting rumors and I fell for it. I'm too gullible.

There apparently is a new hire incentive of $7500 if they already have a CRJ or ERJ type rating.

There is a $1000 one time incentive for recommending a pilot who successfully interviews and completes training for current employees (re: not just pilots).

It's all smoke and mirrors. This place could recruit really well if they truly made some changes and found solid brand ambassadors instead of 2nd year FOs who have no background in recruiting or people management.

Sounds like you have some beef with the company. I am only curious because the recruiters I've talked to and pilots generally all seemed happy. I just thought of it as a Skywest for the East Coast...

Sounds like my assumptions might be wrong...

As a weathered 8+ year FO, yes, expect me to give you a little bit of my opinion.

The Company for the most part is ran fairly well. Significant issues exist that have existed since I stepped on property over 8 years ago.

That said, the recruiters we have are willfully ignorant to a lot of the realities on the line because they never see it, excuse me, they rarely see it, are compensated 6hrs of credit a day (which is only attainable within about 3-5% of CRJ trips), work within an environment of self-congratulatory pats on the back when no such thing is desiring, and enjoy a higher quality of life than any line pilot due to extremely flexible trip drop accommodations to conduct their business of failing to recruit pilots.

The landscape is very different and this Company fails to recognize the elements that would successfully attract quality candidates.

Beef with the company? Sure. But when it comes to recruiting why are we paying folks who should be on the line being productive instead of visiting a college in Maryland that has a flight program but no qualified students who could fill our seats for at least another two and a half years?

Good luck.

I think I'll just come to @Maximillian_Jenius with my regional shopping questions. Line pilots know how things are, but guys in the hunt know the recruiting material.

Definitely NOT questioning line pilots knowledge. I do my own online research and otherwise, while also talking to line pilots from different airlines. In person, on the phone and via email. Trying to sift through the marketing b.s. spewing from recruiters, and also getting the line pilots perspective. From the front lines, and down in the dirt and the weeds. Perspective is everything. I don't ever state with certainty that my perspective is the truth. I only speak what I've been told, and always with a disclaimer. Definitely feel free to tell me if something I say is right or wrong. That's the best way to learn, and I'm wanting to learn everything.

That was in no way intended to be a negative comment. Just a jovial observation that the knowledge of a prospective employee has perhaps surpassed my own, regarding what regionals offer new-hires. Respect.

Furthermore, I recently encountered a prospective regional pilot and wished I could send him your way for some accurate info. He stated TSA was taking the XJT ERJs, and that XJT would be closing its doors. His sole source of info was that other pilot forum. He'd be much better off had he researched like you do. When you(Max) select a regional, I'll probably consider it the company's loss if the current shop doesn't pick you up.

I would have LOVED to do something like that if I actually believed in the place.

Right? Hence their current process for selecting folks. It's a shame this organization pissed away whatever positive culture it had from eight years ago by furloughing some folks and then providing a wonderful stagnant place for employment.

Surreal, what are the travel benefits for a new hire FO? Can't seem to find any info on the Xjet site. Thx

To be honest I think there have been some changes.

If you come to the CRJ side I believe you receive Delta benefits and in the event you happen to go CRJ DFW you'll also receive American benefits.

I'm not sure to what extent ERJ pilots receive Delta benefits, but they do receive United benefits and may also receive American benefits if they are ERJ DFW based.
