Ameriflight

It was always interesting to hear his, and some other of the managements reactions to how shocked we were that we wouldn't sleep on the floor of the crew apartment with 1 light, no cable, no sheets, and in my case once, no heater in the dead of winter. Almost like we should be grateful lol.

I've heard some special things about some of the crew apartments.
I'm convinced the Southern part of the West coast was allowed to run amok on the OPs side. I've seen the old horse crap in BUR personally. Some of it probably still exists. If the ACP doesn't have your back, the base suffers. Though, over there, the ACPs would have probably been fired within a few days if they argued even half the things my predecessor and myself argue about.

There was a CP that advocated for the pilots for a short time that wasn't the CP for very long...

This is why I laugh when certain management officials on FB claim to be bleeding hearts and advocates for pilots lol. The superficial sentences uttered are trumped by the culture that has always existed, and will always exist.

Hell just a day or two ago on the AMF page, a jobs listing was posted and some of the pilots complained that there are lots of guys waiting for upgrade, and they are stuck while new guys are hired directly into larger equipment. Almost in the same sentence, they said something to the effect of "we really care about our pilots" and "It doesn't make sense from a cost standpoint to upgrade current pilots because then they have to find pilots for those open slots. I understand that it is harder to fill piston positions from a desirability standpoint, but it still shows that all they care about is getting people in the door, not keeping them.

I know my base is pretty well stacked with piston guys awaiting an upgrade.

My base doesn't even have an ACP. Our base manager is a decent guy to work for, but he doesn't really fill the shoes of an ACP. Our "ACP" is the CP in Dallas and well...I'm sure he's fine and all, but he can be very hard if not impossible to get a hold of.

Which is ironic, because before your base even opened, I inquired about when the ACP position would be posted for hiring, and was told soon. A month later, they had brought the guy in from the previous company, who didn't last long, with no internal posting of the position.

One of my co workers has been actively seeking the ACP position here for awhile, but nobody in management has really expressed much interest in filling the position.

Not surprising really. Do your time, get what you want to get out of the place and move on.

Absolutely. They probably don't have the capacity to even think about management positions, with the attrition from line pilots. That, or the simply don't care, and won't put one in. HWD was like that for at least a year before it closed.

The best was the stench of weed seeping through the walls at the Visalia apartment. What was even better, was that the 99 from BUR that had a layover in VIS, that crew would go stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Ken made you feel the love.

Or the guy who called out from a possible contact high?

Well, effective the 15th of November, Ameriflight is eliminating the bonus program that was mentioned earlier in the thread and rolling it in to a pay raise. The last retention bonus will be paid at a prorated rate, and out a week before Christmas.

Starting pay for a PA-31 / BE-99 is merged at 44,000, top pay for the EMB-120 tops out at 12 years at 90,000. Starting pay for the SA227/BE1900 is 57,000 and the EMB-120 starts at 65,500.

Yea scratch my previous, it isn't a raise, they just took the bonus and slid it into the salary. Status quo but still good news, it shows some more good faith by the company.
