Those are dual purpose pants my man. Not only do they provide durable protection working in the Alps, they can also be used to test beer.

A beer is poured across a bench, guys in lederhosen sit until the beer soaks through. When they stand, if the bench sticks, beer is ready.

In any case, fest beer is quick brewed causing the inconsistent and rough tastes.
