Who am I? Where are my pants?
What about the guy who rolled the -80, Tex Johnston?
Lyle would've had a time....

Physics works the same for all aircraft.
That bird was written off I believe, because of over stressed maneuvers. That's why I have trouble believing anything bigger than the -80, and maybe the 727 were ever rolled. Much less done so with out seriously over stressing the airframe. To gain enough excess energy to complete a roll, they would have had to dive to transsonic speeds and/or sacrificed a great deal of altitude to carry through the maneuver.
OTOH, the FedEx 705 crew rolled their DC-10 almost inverted so I guess it is possible.

By the way, is that dude still in prison? Hope so...
Nope. Still flying for FedEx.
Three guys in a DC-10.I thought both guys who were attacked never flew again?
Three guys in a DC-10.
None of them were ever able to hold a medical after their horrendous injuries and ever fly professionally again. (Captain Sanders and FE Andy Peterson) But the F/O Jim Tucker, was able much later on, to fly under Light Sport and taught his son to fly his Luscombe. He still has that plane but he has to fly with someone else as PIC.Doh! So one of them is still on the job?
He means the plane.I thought both guys who were attacked never flew again?

Don't get me started. I've had my fill of certain members on here as it is and I have no intention of giving either one of them the chance to come into this thread with their self-righteous, personal opinionated rants, even though one already sadly has. It's getting to be like whack a mole....nope can't go into that thread....nope there goes that thread.....nope not touching that thread with a ten foot pole..... nope staying out of this thread....... nope there goes another thread down the toilet.....nope there's another ruined thread that could have been interesting..... nope I'd like to contribute to that thread but not even going to bother......nope that thread has been completely monopolized, etc. It's gotten old. Very old.He is one of those hazards to aviation that ALPA doesn't want flying in light airplanes without a 3rd class medical.
Here's a decent re-enactment of the FEDEX incident:
The book Hijacked by Dave Hirschman is an incredible read also:

It's a helluva story isn't it? They were lucky to have survived, let alone perform a safe landing. Tremendous efforts on all of their parts. Good, decent men, all three of them. This was amazingly intense. Awesome video!
There are very few pilots like him anymore. I miss him and his airplane. When he sold the Bearcat it was the end of an era.I have a feeling that Mr Shelton would have a *lot* to say about the airlines and airline pilots today were he still here!
True. It's why I rarely look at this site anymore, or post here. I don't even know why I'm posting this, I'm sure someone will reply with a comment, like "if you don't like it, leave!"...well, I mostly have.Don't get me started.
