I used to recommend this site to people...not really doing that anymore.

My kid is getting to the age where he's getting really interested in aviation...if he asks me about aviation websites to look at I'm not going to steer him this direction. Reading almost any thread here lately would be enough to squash the spirit of any young potential aviator.

I know how you feel and I can't say that I can find fault with how you are feeling/thinking either. It's been going on a long time and has gotten far worse. I see a lot of good people that used to post more, hardly bothering now. When I find myself mostly posting in the damn dog thread and the surfing thread, or just having pms, I figure....why bother. So most of the time now, I don't. Any thread I have some interest in, always goes down in flames because of the same people and their obnoxious, insulting, know-it-all, bullying, condescending behavior/attitudes. This thread is a perfect example. It's a shame, but if that is how things are going to roll on here, oh well. Nothing we can do about it. It's just not worth it trying to step around and over all the cow patties that litter so many of the threads on here any longer.

You know, I'm on a lot of forums, some aviation, some auto and some gun forums. I accept certain things, there are idiots on all forums, no doubt. I expect the immaturity level on auto forums, such as svtperformance.com, to be low. Lots of young of kids, no idea what manhood is, lots testosterone and thus lots of my dad can beat up your dad stuff. Gun forums, I expect below average intelligence by quite a few and that doesn't disappoint at all lol Not all, but there is a share of folks who make me look very intelligent and on my best day I'm average. Then there are the aviation forums and one would expect a certain level of maturity, professionalism, etc...at least on the civilian ones :) I think generally it is but pilots bitch more than anyone, have the biggest vagina's and this website is no exception. There are a select few here who seemingly live for drama, have to make their mark. This really should have been a drama free post but it wasn't. Freaking typical, a good place ruined by a select few. I'm putting aside sarcasm, playfulness, etc, I'm talking about genuine flucktards. Rant off.

Anyway, some here know about rolling planes more than others :)
 
Used to love JC. Now? Having to listen to some guy with daddy issues who isn't even in aviation anymore, paid for a right seat, cried, bitched and moaned his way into the airlines, despised everything about the airlines, aviation, and GA, but went back to work for daddy to buy a Mooney. Allegedly regrets the Pay to Play move (bad for street rep, bro), but tries to tell others "how it should be done". He's as bad as a SCAB. It's laughable. This guy is holding the forum hostage with a couple of others.

The forum has become full of varying degrees of this crank twirling.

We someone with the ginormous balls who is isn't afraid to whip this bad boy out and fling it around:

The best forums that I am on have mods who use this liberally. Their premise; Contribute to make the forum better as a whole, or GTFO.

I don't think JC is any better or worse than it was when I joined in 2006, personally.

Some guys I used to enjoy posts from are gone, but there are people here now that weren't then whom I enjoy.

Some guys who were annoying as F are gone, and there are new people who are annoying as F.

All part of the circle of life -- and I still love participating in this forum.

What's sad is an issue was raised on if a user was admonishing someone for their high level of safety standards and then everyone jumped on that person.

I would think/hope he would say that he is amazed at the safety systems in place and appreciative pilots realize how important they are.

Playing test pilot with people on board isn't what I'm paid to do....
